O.P.I swatches

Ahhh O.P.I - how I love thee! I'd buy these for the bottles alone....there's something so lovely and curvy about the bottles!

Anyway, recently one of my sister-in-laws has taken to buying me O.P.I polishes for pressies:) This Christmas I was thoroughly spoilt; I Pulled A Plum and What Wizardry Is This were wrapped up, just for me, under the tree!

Stunning - it's already a winter favourite. IRL, there's a deeper purply colour that occasionally flashes into view, but my camera refused to capture that! It applies flawlessly, dries quickly and is just LUSH!

She also gave me my very first Liquid Sands polish - What Wizardry is This (the name alone makes me happy, as I'm a huge Wicked fan!). I must admit this polish confused me; I couldn't decide if I loved it ir hated it - the Marmite of the polish world. I'll let you decide; the first 2 pictures are without top coat, the last 2 are with three coats of gloss:)

Hmmmm - I just don't know! Anyway, let's end with a picture of something I know I love; Smokey (posing as usual!).

 Have a great week guys x x x

Barry M Countess

Ok, so this is my very first textured polish* and boy, was it worth waiting for!

To start, it goes on very easily. I have no idea if that's the case with other texture polishes, but I was really pleased. The picture below is 2 coats, totally opaque!

It leaves you with a gritty brown, filled with flecks of gold and purple and a reddish tone in some light. Very pretty. The texture is actually tolerable, even for me. However, I do love my shine and smoothness........

.......so I added 3 (yep, 3, it's very textured lol) coats of Boots Stay Perfect Top Coat.

Oh yeah baby! It really brings out the gorgeous flecks of gold and purple, just stunning. I couldn't stop staring at my nails, it was like having bejewelled conkers on my fingers:)

Wow, the close up makes it look like burning embers. Drooooooooooooooool.

Swoon - I might have to buy the rest of the collection if this is anything to go by:)

* some of you may remember I bought the Barry M White Sequin polish, which was also textured. But I've been trying to wipe it from my mind, so as far as I'm concerned, Countess is my first texture polish lol:)

I'm back with a mini haul!

I'm back baby!

I really hope you're all well; apologies that my 'pause' was a bit longer than I had planned, but it's done me the world of good. Things are looking up.

And not just because I've had a mini splurge..........

Whoop whoop - the new special edition polish from Barry M - I got the one from Boots (Left) and from Superdrug (Right). Soooooooo sparkly! The red topped one is drool worthy - think it's going to be a Christmas fave:)

I also picked up the bad boy whilst in Boots; Sinful Colours, Hottie. Wowsa!

Lastly, the sexy flakie (surely an oxymoron?) from Barry M and Countess, MY FIRST TEXTURE POLISH! And boy was it worth waiting for..............

Rimmel Precious Stone Collection - Diamond Dust Swatch

I totally ignored this polish, until I saw the most gorgeous swatch by Alexis at Glittertips. She really brought it to life, so it founds its way until my collection, and I'm happy it did!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep it's so pretty! This is three coats over a coat of unnamed grey (just to avoid VPL). It's a silver grey glitter, filled with larger pieces of holographic glitter. It has a very textured feel and doesn't really *pop* until you add topcaot. And then.......oooh it's magpie-tastic! Thank you Alexis, without your gorgeous blog I wouldn't have this sparklyness in my life.

Barry M Sequin Effects (White) Swatch

Sooooooooooooooooooo this polish. Awkward silence. What to say?

Well, firstly I don't think I dislike it as some of the other bloggers I've read who've reviewed it. But I'm not a big fan. Here are some piccies to help you make your own mind up.

Like most people, I'm totally baffled as to why Barry M decided to add texture to this. It makes it tricky to apply and the glitter will not stay flat. therefore the whole effect, i.e. layers of glitter, just doesn't work.

That said, there is a certain charm to this; the glitters are cute, and it dries very quickly.

Does anyone else think that this is more of a Christmas polish? I can see it coming out at Christmas (possibly), maybe I'll consign it to the Xmas Polish draw (yes, I have one, because I'm super cool!). I wonder if Barry M meant for this to come out in the summer? Hmmmmmmm.
