Topshop Adrenaline swatch

Hey hey, hope you've all had a lovely weekend? I've been in the North, visiting my brother and his wife, and had a great time! Drinking Guinness, watching the rugby, long walks with their crazy buy lovable dog, chilling etc - brill!

So the beauty I have for you today is Topshop Adrenaline, a pink/holographic glitter. It's sublime! My lovely friend Katrina got this for me and I love it:) And her:)

This is 2 coats over a coat of Nails Inc Elizabeth Street. The glitter goes on smoothly, dries quickly and is by far the best Topshop polish I own:) Thanks Katrina x x x

Mini haul - and it was free!

Ahhhhhhhhhh, Superdrug's loyalty cards - how would I survive without it? This haul comes courtesy of loyalty points, friends and toothpaste.......I'll explain:)

So, my amazing friends somehow worked out that nail polish was my thang, and bought me OPI I Juggle Men and Topshop Adrenaline. Both a gorgeous, and both are NOT dupes of anything I own, which is, at this point in my collection, BLOOMING AMAZING. But the, I do have amazing friends:)

Models Own Utopia, Posh Polish Pinkabloo and Barry M Blood Orange were paid for with Superdrug points - so they were FREE (although it does beg the questions, "I've spent HOW much to accumulate those points??!"

And lastly, most flippingly fun of all, I wandered into a branch of Boots to be confronted with the sign 'Free Polish' - yes, I'd read correctly, FREE Nails Inc polish with Colgate toothpaste. WTF???? Well, my teeth do need to be kept clean.........:)

My first attempt at Galaxy nails:)

I have been putting off trying galaxy nails for so long; I don't know why, but it just didn't look like it could be as easy as every person kept claiming it was.

So first thing; the technique is pretty easy. So I really should have tried this earlier. I simply painted my nails a dark colour (Models Own, In the Navy) and the applied the other polishes over the top using bits of kitchen paper towel.

What is difficult is selecting the colours. It took ages to decide upon the ones to use, but here they are:)

Left to right; Barry M White, Barry M Bright Pink, Topshop Plume, GOSH Galaxy, Models Own Hayleys Comet, Models Own In the Navy, Barry M Iridescent Pink.

And here are my first attempts at galaxy nails:)

I was super pleased by some of the apt names - I was tempted to try and use Topshop's Pluto to join Galaxy and Hayley's Comet simply because of the name, but it wouldn't fit in. Who new polish makers were such astronomy lovers though?

I'm not 100% pleased with my nails, but I am pleased that I've tried a new technique and that they are wearable. There are a few adjustments I'd make next time, my middle finger looks a but clunky, but overall - chuffed. And do give it a go yourself, I made a mountain out of a molehill on these, should have tried them earlier!

Swatch - Topshop Pluto

Hola - a very joyous Tuesday to you all:)

So, my aforementioned shopping trip to Topshop also resulted in this bad boy - Pluto, a glorious glitter topper. It's a clear base filled with large lilac hexes - gorgeous! I decided to put it over my trustworthy Black by Barry M, a glossy two coater:) As you can see, this polish is seriously shiny, so shiny my camera struggled to cope lol!

I love this polish, in fact I actually dreamt about this polish - I've already got three other colours lined up that I want to combine this with, it's just so pretty. The application is pretty good, you get a lot of glitter with each swipe! You'll definitely need to place the glitter, but that's hardly a hardship for such a lovely polish is it? :)

Swatch - Topshop Plume

Ahhhh Monday - the world would be infinitely better without you!

Only a recent shopping trip I decided to try out Topshop's new range of polishes. They have some pretty awesome colours that I was keen to try, including Plume, a blurple that I'd been lusting after since seeing it on Polly Polish. Blurples make my heart beat faster, so I was so keen to try this colour.

As you can see, the colour is lovely - sadly, my camera struggled to capture this:(

The colour was everything I'd hoped for - a glorious blurple duochrome foil with a rainbow-ish tinge in some lights. But the formula? Rubbish! It took forever to dry, needed 4 coats to reach a coverage I was happy with and almost refused to become glossy, no matter how many layers of topcoat I applied. Poor show Topshop. Poor show:(

Ah well, for this colour I'd forgive almost anything:)

February haul - sparkly!

Hello peeps, hope you're enjoying your weekend?

I had a brilliant day yesterday, I spent almost all of it in Birmingham buying polishes. I literally went only to shops that stocked polishes; Topshop, Boots, Claire's, Superdrug, Accessorize....it was bliss. And, without bf with me, I was free to relax and enjoy my splurge.

My new plan has been to only buy polishes that scream at me. You know the ones, they catch your eye and you know you have to have it, it has that special something. All of these polishes had that something for me. So, behold; my February haul:)

Sally Hansen No Chip Topcoat, Claire's Cosmetic polishes (no names, argh!), Barry M Gold Glitter.

 L to R - Accessorize Magic, Topshop Plume, 2True Shade 5, 2True Shade 3.

Nail Pop Kimono, Nail Pop Glam Rock, GOSH Galaxy.

It's so much fun when you find those polishes that make your heart beat faster - and yes, I think anyone who saw me shopping yesterday would have thought I was MAD, grinning like a cheshire cat, squealing, drooling etc etc.

I need to draw your attention to one polish in particular - 2True Shade 3. It's a limited edition from  their glitterari collection. All I can say is I think you're going to need this polish in your life - swatches coming up tomorrow so you can decide for yourself. But the second I clutched this polish in my sweaty hands, it went into my top 10! Loooooooooooooove:)
