Duck eggs....

Happy Wednesday - half way through the week, not long til the weekend! I'm off to see my gorgeous friend Sherri and her lovely family this weekend, bring it on! 

So, this manicure I've had kicking round for ages - shame on me:( It's so pretty; I can't believe I've not worn Loreal's Confetti, the black and white glitter below, since this manicure; I obsessed over it for weeks until I finally got my grubby little mitts on it. Ahhhh, the highs and lows of an addiction.......

Am I the only one who thinks it makes my nails look like duck eggs?

So today hasn't been the greatest; more cat related drama I'm afraid!

I woke up to see that poor Smokey had what looked like a large swelling on his neck. Lovely bf took him to the vet and it turned out he had a nasty abscess - rubbish! So he had to have a mini operation to drain it (eeeeeeew) and is now a very groggy kitty. He's home (yay!) but looks very odd - a big patch of fur was shaved off and he's got a big grumpy face on! But still, he's home and on the mend, phew:) 

On the plus side, I was rocking probably the best nails ever, which cheered me up a tad whenever I looked at them - Cath Kidson-esque rose nails!

Please excuse the dreadful clean up, I totally missed a huge patch!

 I used my newest polish, Shade 15 by 2True, a stunning baby blue, and a random mini Accessorize pink to compliment it. The roses were made using a blob of Barry M White and Models Own Pink Blush, mixed together with a cocktail stick. The stripes and dots were made with my Models Own nail art pen. 

I'm off to snuggle Smokey lol:)

 

Swatch - 2True Glitterati - Shade 5

Ahhhhhhhhhhh 2True - you are too good to me:) Whilst perusing the MASSIVE stand of polishes in Edinburgh Superdrug (shout out!) I found this baby - eeeeeeeeep! lol:) It's a clear polish filled with various sized blue and green glitter hexes. I really love it, even though it's a really simple polish. 2True: you've done it again! 

I really love how good this looks over Models Own In the Navy, a gorgeous polish in it's own right. Like Shade 5, it's easy to apply and dries quickly:) 

Swatch 2True Shade 52

Hey guys, hope you've all had a great weekend.

Just a quick post today as I'm desperate to get an early night, I'm sooooooooooo sleepy:( Too much work, not enough zzzzzzzzzzzz. So here's a swatch of my newest 2True polish, the excitingly named Shade 52 lol! It's a shimmery, pearly blurple, a total nightmare to capture on my camera.

Unlike my other 2True shades, this dried incredibly quickly:) This is two coats, no topcoat - so shiny, blurple, quick drying, good application - what's not to love?! Have a great week peeps, I'm off to catch some zzzz:)

Happy Caturday, feat. Cherry Blossoms.

Hey peeps, anyone else thinking the tag line for this post sounds like a remixed version of some dodgy 90s song? Lol:) Anyway, let me explain.....

The Caturday part comes from some VERY exciting news. As you may know, we lost our beloved cat Monty before Christmas. We were heartbroken, and so was our other cat, Boo. She's been moping around the house for a while now, and seems so lonely. So we've adopted another cat to keep her company. Introducing.....................

He's so soft and cute, and also loves cuddles. He and Boo are still sussing each other out, but all seems well:) 

And now onto the second part of this post; actual nails! I loved the 2True polish I was wearing yesterday so much I decided to try a bit of nail art on them. I'm pleased with these as a first attempt, but keen to try them again and improve them - maybe more cherry blossom, and a lighter branch, black seemed a bit harsh.

Swatch - 2True Shade 49

Ahhhh Friday - what a brilliant day, I hope you're all enjoying it:) I have a lovely polish for you today, another from the 2True range, Shade 49. The photos here make it look blue, but in real life it has a more teal-y tinge; I tried to capture it using my camera, but all that happened was that the camera gave me lobster hands:( 

It's shot through with incredibly fine silver micro-glitter, which gives it a pearly look on the nails; oddly, I usually hate pearly colours, but this one I love, it's so cute.

                                                                                                         

I loved this colour so much that I kept it on to do some nail art..........coming soon. 

Swatch - 2True Shade 54

Oh my goodness, what a surprise, I've got another 2True polish for you:)

Pick yourself up off the floor and feast your eyes on this beauty - a gorgeous, shimmery blue.

Now, I did say I would now only buy polishes that had a certain something about them. Regular readers may know that I have a lot of blues, so what makes this one different from the rest? Well, in particular lights this has the most beautiful teal/green shimmer, something my camera refused point blank to capture, making is extra lovely!

P.s. - The application on this is easy, but as usual with 2True shades, sloooooooooooooooow lol. The wear is good though - I only wore this for two days, but my tips were absolutely fine:)

Swatch - 2True Shade 5

Hey guys!

You know when you just need that perfect shade of neon orangey-pink.....er, nope, neither do I. And yet, I find myself oddly drawn to this eye-wateringly bright creme by 2True. It's an easy to apply, happy and bright colour, perfect for a night out or a summer day. Somewhat less suitable for a Sunday in Antarctica Birmingham, but the minute it's summertime I shall be rocking this shade:)

The above is 2 coats, with a fast drying topcoat (it's a bit on the slow side to dry, but only £1.99, and for a bargain I'm willing to wait a bit longer!) The brush is nice and long so it gives good coverage and all together, I'm pretty sold on this little pretty:)

Hi peeps, hope you've had a relaxing Sunday? I've been watching the rugby and eating roast beef - lovely:)

I hit Superdrug yesterday in search of a few more 2True colours; they're ridiculously cheap, £1.99 each, or 3 for £4.99:) Can't complain at those prices!

So one of the colours in my haul was the elegantly named Shade 21, a very hot pink with a slightly bluish shine in the right light. The application wasn't fab, it definitely needs a fast drying top coat, but the colour is gorgeous. As I'm not the biggest pink fan, this is high praise indeed from me:)

I have to admit that this manicure was not my own idea; it was based on a mani I found on Pinterest, and is also on Beautylish.com. I didn't have the patience to do zig zags on the accent nail, so went for stripes instead:) 

Excuse the smudge stripes - I didn't wait long enough before applying topcoat:( Fail!

Swatch - 2True Limited Edition Shade 2

Ahhhhhhhhhhh good Saturday peeps:)

I had the best start to the weekend last night. I headed to China Town for some nommy dim sum, not realising that it was Chinese New Year. Half way through our meal, the most amazing Chinese Lion danced through the restaurant we were eating in, amazing:) Then I got home and discovered a lovely letter from HMRC, with a large tax rebate enclosed - whoop whoop!

And it keeps getting better; it was actually light enough today to take photos of the gorgeous 2True Limited Edition Shade 2. Oooooooooooooooh so much glitter:)

It's a lovely pale pink jelly, packed to the rafters with orange and pink hexes and laced with fine silver glitter. Like it's brothers, it's a thick polish, and takes a while to dry, but it so glossy and sparkly that it's worth it:) This swatch is over an unnamed peach polish I found, as Shade 2 doesn't layer up to total opacity, and I can't cope VNL lol:)

Swatch - 2True Shade 3 - Limited Edition

Be still my beating heart!

Oh my god, I cannot explain how much I love this polish. I knew it was special when I picked it up (Superdrug, £1.99) but the second I put it on my nail I fell deeply, deeply in love with it. 

It's a royal blue jelly packed with tiny blue specks of glitter, and silver, teal and pale blue large hexes. As I hate a visible nail line (I just can't do it, sorry!) I've layered this over Hello Kitty Respect, another truly beautiful polish. 

The camera cannot do it justice. I ran round my house taking hundreds of photos in different lights to see if i could capture its true perfection, but alas, if you want to know exactly how gorgeous this is, you'll have to buy it. You won't be disappointed. 

There is one teeny, tiny problem with this polish, and that it that it's a bit gloopy. But hell, I DON'T CARE because true love does not see such imperfections! 

February haul - sparkly!

Hello peeps, hope you're enjoying your weekend?

I had a brilliant day yesterday, I spent almost all of it in Birmingham buying polishes. I literally went only to shops that stocked polishes; Topshop, Boots, Claire's, Superdrug, Accessorize....it was bliss. And, without bf with me, I was free to relax and enjoy my splurge.

My new plan has been to only buy polishes that scream at me. You know the ones, they catch your eye and you know you have to have it, it has that special something. All of these polishes had that something for me. So, behold; my February haul:)

Sally Hansen No Chip Topcoat, Claire's Cosmetic polishes (no names, argh!), Barry M Gold Glitter.

It's so much fun when you find those polishes that make your heart beat faster - and yes, I think anyone who saw me shopping yesterday would have thought I was MAD, grinning like a cheshire cat, squealing, drooling etc etc. 

I need to draw your attention to one polish in particular - 2True Shade 3. It's a limited edition from  their glitterari collection. All I can say is I think you're going to need this polish in your life - swatches coming up tomorrow so you can decide for yourself. But the second I clutched this polish in my sweaty hands, it went into my top 10! Loooooooooooooove:)
