Claire's Accessories Dove Grey/Pink speckled polish - swatch

I indulged in a very guilty pleasure this weekend....oi, minds out of the gutter! I meant shopping in Claire's Accessories, the home of glitter and tat and all things synthetic and One Direction related! The reason; why polish hunting of course! And it paid off this weekend.

Oh boy, how it paid off! Feast your eyes on this beauty!

It's a dove pink/grey colour; so beautiful, yet so subtle. It's full of black and silver specks of small glitter, and layers easily to produce this stunning speckled egg effect. Gorgeous!

It goes on easily, although you need to apply carefully; this is three coats with a small amount of judicious application to ensure the glitter went everywhere I wanted. It dried quickly and smoothly. I'm so happy with this little polish.

As previously discussed, Claire's put the name of the polish on their receipt rather than the bottle (???!!) and stupidly I forgot to chekc it out! Gah! But this polish was only £2.50! So I can't complain:)

Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots - Rainforest Canopy swatch

Hey hey amigos,

Still crazy busy, but some of that business has been exciting prep for holiday business, making it somewhat easier to cope with:) Sadly, I won't be visiting the rainforest whilst hitting South America, so to compensate I purchased this rather lovely newbie from Maybelline.

I have to say, I prefer this Polka Dot polish to the other in my collection, Speckled Pink, which is cute......but this is cuter!

This is a fairly sheer polish, so I layered it over a random jade I found knocking round in my collection. I then painted 2 layers of Rainforest Canopy over the top. It's really easy to apply, although to give a coverage even enough for moi, I did place a few pieces of glitter here and there to even things out.  Et voila.............lovely speckly nails.

Happiness.

Swatch - Accessorize Bumblebee

Hey peeps - urgh, I'm hanging, so I'll keep this short and sweet. I have for your delectation today a gorgeous  orange polish: I never thought I'd type that, orange is hardly my favourite colour to have on my nails. But this Accessorize speckle polish is lovely, really warm and delicious looking. The name Bumblebee is adorable as well.

This was a very sheer colour, so I popped it over a base or Barry M Block Orange, but afterwards I wished I hadn't. Block orange is very bright, whereas Bumblebee is a delicate, pumpkin-y colour. Next time I wear this polish I'll wear it on it's own, even if there is VNL - I love it that much!

The polish is spliced with matt black glitter, and creates a beautiful speckle - hence the name:)
speckly:)

Swatch - Accessorize Speckle Jupiter/Ladybird

It's Thursday baby - the weekend is nigh!

Righty, have another Accessorize polish with a muddled named for you! Shocking after the Pink Spice confusion. The polish I'm going to show you is called Jupiter on the bottle. However, looking through various swatches at other blogs such as Brit Nails and Never mind Suzi , it seems to also be called Ladybird. Baffled! Totally baffled! And actually really annoying. My camera is totally unable to focus closely enough on the bottle to show you the name, so hopefully you'll trust me when I say that my bottle says Jupiter.

Anyway, enough whining, onto lovely swatches:) These are 1 coat of Jupiter/Ladybird over a coat of Maybelline Deep Red.

Can you believe that when I first tried this polish I almost binned it? I didn't put a base colour on and tried to build the colour up with multiple layers instead. As the red base is so sheer, it took 3 coats; the black glitter almost covered the colour totally and made it look muddy and just horrid.

It was only after seeing some swatches on Brit Nails (links above peeps, I urge you to check her out, she crazy talented) that I thought about layered. Face palm!

Swatch - Accessorize Speckle Polish!

A very quick post today - major Christmassy work meltdown, so have a crazy workload at the moment. Anyhoooooooooooooo...

Eeeeeeeep 19 days left peeps! So, I may have treated myself a little bit when shopping for pressies. I stupidly went into Superdrug thinking that I'd be able to walk past the polish section - pah! Who was I kidding?! I didn't have any speckles and they had speckles and I knew I needed speckles and...............well. Now I have speckles.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

The first I'm swatching is the amazing Damselfly. It's the most gorgeous duck egg blue, with small flecks of gold and dark blue glitter. Fabulous. Really easy application, below is 2 coats with a topcoat. I think to truly love it it needs a lot of topcoat to really make the glitter go POW!

Have a good day peeps, toodle pip.
