Gold glitter and blue tape mani

I have no idea how else to describe this other than 'gold glitter and blue tape mani' lol. This was inspired heavily by Whitney at Dressedupnails, as she often layers opaque polishes over glitters. I've been wanting to have a go for a while, so here's my first attempt.

I painted a few layers of Models Own Disco Mix (a fine gold glitter speckled with blue-green glitter) and then palced striping tape over the top when it had dried thoroughly. Then I painted a thick layer of Adora-bleu by Bourjois over the top. A slick of topcoat and it was ready:) On my ring finger, I painted a couple of coats of Barry M Yellow Topaz Glitter over the Ibiza Mix; I have to say I'd underrated Yellow Topaz Glitter, but it's stunning; large and small gold and holographic glitter, wow!

I'm chuffed with this, and have been experimenting.....more soon:)

Dots and hearts using Models Own Nude Beige

Hey peeps,

I've been MIA for a few days as I've been travelling round the north of our fair country visiting people and drinking beer. Happily I do have a rather smashing mani for you - can you tell I'm proud of this one?

This is based on a top I wore at the weekend - I used the dotting tools from my Bundle Monster kit and cut out tape templates for the hearts, I'm chuffed, chuffed, flipping chuffed with these:)

I'm a bit gutted as my Models Own Nude Beige, the base for this, is getting a bit gloopy - can anyone recommend a good thinner?

Barry M Gellies!

Ahhhhh, these little babies were hiding in my unused polishes and I decided that they needed an airing - and to be used in a mani together. Presenting Blackberry (darker polish) and Prickly Pear (paler polish, obvs).

The first thing to note is how shiny these polishes are - gel like indeed! The Prickly Pear is a bluey lavender-like pale purple. It's very sheer - this is 3 coats! Unlike other polishes (no names, ahem, cough, Models Own, cough) there was no bubbling, even though the coats I painted were pretty thick.

Please note that these look dull because I got sheets marks on them - I was soooooooo sleepy.

To test the theory that the Blackberry was a one coat wonder (a view put forwards by many bloggers) I decided to test it in a tape mani. What? A tape mani? Me? I know, pick yourself up off the floor, it is indeed a massive shock:) Lol. Sorry, but it was the ideal way to test it.

And it worked a treat. It went on smoothly, dried quickly and was perfect in one coat. I think if I was wearing it on it's own I'd do two coats, but still. And the colour.......oh the glorious colour. It's so autumnal and sexy and shiny and deep and yummy. Flipping amazeballs!

Ps - please excuse the shabbiness and lack of clean up in this mani - it was a bit of a rush job as I'm keen to start work on a bit of a personal nail challenge.......all will be revealed soon:)

Black pointy claws!

Heh heh, no, not my little kitty cat's claws. My own. I'm off to a wedding this weekend and have a gorgeous cream and black lace dress to wear. My only issue with this dress is that for some reason it's crazy hard to get a polish that compliments it. To be honest, it's hard to find a polish that doesn't look downright odd with it!

However, my new Nude Beige from Models Own has come to the rescue! Paired with my trusty Maybelline Onyx Black, I've found something I'm really, really pleased with:)

And for you lovely lot, gratuitous kitty photo!

Boo wasn't in the mood to be papped, but Monty was as keen as ever. Btw, awesome story: I've had my cats for a few years, before I met my wonderful bf. He has always looked after them well, and has slowly grown to love them, despite protesting this fact when they run around his feet and trying to trip him up. But this morning, I found out how much they'd grown on him. I came downstairs, leaving for work, and bf was eating his brekkie at the table. Next to him was Monty, with his own  bowl of milk. Apparently, bf and Monty regularly breakfast together! Wow!

Dots and stripes!

Greetings peeps. Hope you've had a good Monday (if such things exist!). I had a manic, but fun, day, especially after getting several compliments for my new nails. I got inspiration for this from Prima Creative, which features some amazing designs. After a breif fling with various other nail polishes, I have returned to my favoured Barry M cherubs for this design. I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of the base coat (a bit salmony looking and too chalky) but with these colours it stands out:)

Presenting tape and dots mani - the first of many I think:)

Geometric nails

Ok, this is weird; because I am so crazy busy, I know that I won't have time to post the nails I've just done soon, so I've scheduled this post; so it feels kind of like I'm talking to the future as I type this. Hello future mes and future yous! Lol:) Anyway, first things first, new polishes. I went to Superdrug yesterday and noticed that they stock the Accessorize nail polishes and that they were 2 for £5! Good work Superdrug. I've only bought one Accessorize in the past and loved the colour and application, so I was very excited. As I was with my bf I was very restrained and only bought 4. Bf thought 4 was too much, I thought I'd been very good. Anyway, behold!

L to R; Molten Copper, Dream, Aztec, Coralicious

I'm very excited about using these. I'm dying to use Dream, it's got a really dense small blue glitter with larger pieces of purple glitter in as well:) Glitter heaven! Anyway, I was already wearing my new fave polish (Pray by Models Own) so  decided to incorporate the Coralicious into a geometric design. I love tape manis, I always find they work really well for me:) And the straight organised lines work well for my OCDness.

Ha ha - hand butterfly:)

My lovely bf helped me by taking the photos, hence both my hands are featured! I really love this colour combo, unusual for me as I usually prefer softer pastel shades. Maybe I'm changing like the seasons.....but that's a deep question and I need to go to bed. Let's hope this scheduling malarky works:) Toodle pip!
