Hello Kitty Respect with silver studs

Whoop whoop - it's finally Friday peeps!

Happy face:)

I'm especially happy today because I've been wearing the same manicure for almost a week and it still looks amazing; therefore, my new topcoat has proven it's stripes and will henceforth be renamed 'flipping amazeballs topcoat, booyah!' - lol:)

The mani it was protecting so wonderfully is a very simple one; Hello Kitty Respect (a stunning royal blue with a lovely shimmer) with silver studs.

Excuse the dreadful photos; Smoky climbed all over my light box earlier and knocked off one of my lamps! Toe-rag! But such a cute one....

So chuffed - btw, the amazing topcoat is Sally Hansen Diamond Shine - oooooh I love it!

Hello Kitty Beat Box and Claire's glitter topper

G'day peeps, hope you're well, anyone else gutted that the sun seems to be hiding again?

As mentioned, I've been on my holidays, and this has afforded me plenty of time to pick up some new polishes. I nipped into Claire's again and found some amazing glitters, and even better they were 3 for 2 - and only £2.50 each! Happy days:)

So here's one of them, an unnamed glitter topper; a clear base filled with lilac hexes and tiny blue specks of glitter. I've placed it over a lovely polish by Hello Kitty, with the odd name of Beat Box (totally 90's-tastic!). Can you believe this has been in my untried tub for a couple of months? I got it from my secret Santa at work, it's gorgeous, a really creamy lilac with great application.

The Claire's polish went on easily, as with most polishes of this kind, the larger pieces needed some placing, but generally it was quick and easy. My only complaint with these polishes? No names! WHY? For some reason it really bugs me, it's like they don't care lol!

Swatch - Models Own Disco Mix

Hey peeps,

Hope you're having a great day, I'm on my hols so I've been relaxing and shopping today with one of my best friends. We headed to Selfridges and ate some of the most amazing cheesecake - salted caramel and almond! I'd have taken a photo, except I ate it so quickly there wasn't time lol.

Anyway, this is part of my haul from the past few days, Models Own Disco Mix. It's a clear base filled with blue and pinky purple glitter - this is 2 coats over my faithful Respect from Hello Kitty.

I think I like this polish.......I'm kind of sad, because I loved it when it was in the bottle:( I'm going to try placing it over a purple, instead of blue, to see if that makes the purple stand out more, which is what I'd prefer. Hmmmmmm - still undecided about this one.

Swatch - 2True Shade 3 - Limited Edition

Be still my beating heart!

Oh my god, I cannot explain how much I love this polish. I knew it was special when I picked it up (Superdrug, £1.99) but the second I put it on my nail I fell deeply, deeply in love with it.

It's a royal blue jelly packed with tiny blue specks of glitter, and silver, teal and pale blue large hexes. As I hate a visible nail line (I just can't do it, sorry!) I've layered this over Hello Kitty Respect, another truly beautiful polish.

The camera cannot do it justice. I ran round my house taking hundreds of photos in different lights to see if i could capture its true perfection, but alas, if you want to know exactly how gorgeous this is, you'll have to buy it. You won't be disappointed.

There is one teeny, tiny problem with this polish, and that it that it's a bit gloopy. But hell, I DON'T CARE because true love does not see such imperfections!

Purple mosaic nail art

So it turns out that a hangover can be good for you!

Yesterday it was all I could do to lie on the sofa, eating cheese and getting back up to date with the amazing blogs that I follow and love. Whilst reading new and old posts on one of my favourite, The Crumpet, I came across an article about her love of purple. This made the cogs in my brain turn, and formed an internal monologue something like this;

"hmmmmmmmmm purple, so many wonderful purples, I like purple too. I should do a purple manicure. Ok, come on, get up, to the polish cupboard, I'm sure I'll find a couple of purple polishes somewhere. Oh %^&$ - I've got 12 purple polishes! Argggggggh. Actually, wait. Brilliant - I've got 12 purple polishes. Good for me. I will use them all. Wooooohahahahahahahaaaaaaa"

Like I said, I was hungover. But my desire to use my purples led to me trying something new. And it's abstract! Wow:)

And these are the polishes that created this mani. 6 out of the 12 made the grade. From left to right, my trusty Models Own nail art pen in gold, then Imperial Purple, Purple Passion, Berry Ice-Cream, Bright Purple, Blackberry and Beat Box.

A small whinge, if I may. If you look closely on at the photos, you'll notice that there are patches where the polish is very bubbly. Bubbly enough to bother me severely. Those were the Models Own polishes. Note none of the Barry M polishes bubbled, neither did the Hello Kitty polish. Also note; Models Own polishes retail at £5 per bottle, Barry M ones at £2.99. Hmmmmmmmmm. That's all I'm going to say.
