Whittling down the untrieds - New Look Gold Giles Salute

It has occurred to me the other day that many of my untried have actually been tried once but didn't 'make the grade' - that is, something made me stop painting, take the polish off and use another one. This is certainly the case with today's polish, Salute by Gold Giles (sold in New Look). The application is dreadful - gloopy, sticky and smelly, with a drying time that makes it impossible to do anything for an hour. Oh, and it bubbles. Can't think why I haven't used it earlier......

It's a shame, as the colour is actually quite nice. Not great, but nice. It's a military style green, a sort of army green. But as you can see, despite waiting a while for each layer to dry, it still bubbled:(

Given the green, I had to try this nail art out - camouflage! I added studs cos I was scared that my nails would just blend into the background otherwise lol. Thinking about it, gold studs would have been better, but still, I kind of like this manicure. I would try a darker brown if I did this again; for this I used Models Own Prey and an unnamed green also by New Look. Still, not bad.

I think I might have to try this design in neon - something is calling me to rock neon camouflage!

Black and gold skittle

Ahhh, there are times when  you need leopard print and glitter - I needed it to get me through a tough week last week, so I created this little beauty.

I love it - the black is Betty Jackson black, lovely and glossy, like tar..........or marmite. Let's go with marmite, sounds more delicious:) The gold is Models Own Gold Rush and the glitter is Models Own Ibiza Mix - a total stunner, gold and blue and green glitter mixed together to form actual happiness in a bottle:)

Have a good evening peeps, I'm off to eat home made chow mein in a late attempt to celebrate Chinese New Year! Nommmmmmmmmy:)

Bourjois It's Raining Stars and Models Own Utopia

I loved Bourjois It's Raining Stars so much I had to use it again, this time as an accent nail with Models Own Utopia. I combined some silver studs to bring it all together. Cute:)

Hello Kitty Respect with silver studs

Whoop whoop - it's finally Friday peeps!

Happy face:)

I'm especially happy today because I've been wearing the same manicure for almost a week and it still looks amazing; therefore, my new topcoat has proven it's stripes and will henceforth be renamed 'flipping amazeballs topcoat, booyah!' - lol:)

The mani it was protecting so wonderfully is a very simple one; Hello Kitty Respect (a stunning royal blue with a lovely shimmer) with silver studs.

Excuse the dreadful photos; Smoky climbed all over my light box earlier and knocked off one of my lamps! Toe-rag! But such a cute one....

So chuffed - btw, the amazing topcoat is Sally Hansen Diamond Shine - oooooh I love it!

Barry M Indigo with silver studs!

I'm alive! I've been sooooo snowed with work, it's been almost a week since I posted, shocking!

Anyhoo, this is a little mani, from a few weeks ago, which I adore. Barry M by Indigo is one of my favourite colours EVER and the little studs just finish it off; I wore this to my very posh meal, and felt my nails fitted right in (unlike the rest of me lol)

The only thing I didn't like about this mani? The way my Sally Hansen totally FAILED and went on bubbly and lumpy; not impressed! Every time I get halfway through the bottle it just turns to gloop - boo, hiss!

Back soon peeps:)

My 100th post - this calls for a glittery mash up!

Howdy peeps! I hope you're all having a nice, chilled Sunday? I'm a tiddly bit hungover after going out for a very fancy meal, complete with posh cocktails, with bf:) It was awesome - I had a cocktail called a Monkey Nut, banana liquer, rum and peanut butter - bliss!

Anyhoo - the big news is that this is my 100th post! I can't believe it, it seems like only yesterday I started obsessively following nail blogs, buying absurd amounts of polish and painting my nails like a crazy woman:) Thank you to all of you lovely followers who have looked, liked and inspired me with your own amazing work - it's made this so much fun.

As a celebration I decided that I need to use some of my favourite designs, in my favourite colours, with some of my favourite polishes. So here we are; a black and gold mash up, with extra glitter!

Barry M Black and Gold Glitter - both brilliant after two coats (The glitter is over a coat of gold polish)

Barry M Gold Mine. Where is this in the mani you ask? Well, it's on my thumb, but could not get a good enough photo of it, so it didn't make the cut:)

Models Own Gold Rush and Barry M Yellow Topaz Glitter - two of my favourite polishes ever:)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, it's so sparkly:) I managed to include a glitter gradient, tape mani, half moons, and even more glitter - so pleased:) Hope you all have a good week ahead peeps, toodle pip!

Nail Pop Glam Rock topped with gold studs

Whoop whoop - Friday - I'm doing my little happy dance:)

Anyway, onto less disturbing images lol. This is my first attempt with embellishments such as studs. These were from a pack I bought in Urban Outfitters, and I'm pretty chuffed with them.

I stuck them on with an old, gloppy topcoat polish, and then topped them with two coats of Sally Hansen No Chip topcoat. They stayed on nicely for a couple of days, and I didn't really notice them (I'd been a bit concerned they'd get in my way).

But what's the colour under? you're wondering. Well, this gorgeous shade is Nail Pop Glam Rock, a raspberry jelly filled with purply-pink glitter:) It goes on beautifully, this is 3 coats with a 2 layers of topcoat. It's such a stunning colour, I already can't wait to wear it again - it's just so deep and lush looking.

Have a great weekend peeps, it's time to relax - I'm off for a glass of Pinot!

I must not go to Urban Outfitters. I must not go to Urban Outfitters.

Gaaaaaaaaaah - I went to Urban Outfitters! I was honestly only looking to see if they still had any Seche Vite. There wasn't, but there were these;

How cute?! Can't wait to use the little kitty faces, they're adorable!

Whoop whoop - can finally get round to doing a mani with studs:)

Studio 54 - So sparkly! Be still inner magpie, be still my beating heart!

I'll let you guys know how I get on with these bits and pieces asap, already slathering my nails in Studio 54 - swatch soon:) Enjoy the rest of your Monday peeps:)
