Posh Polish Pinkabloo swatch

Gaaaaaaaaaaah Tuesday, how the blooming heck did you creep up on me?!

Anyway, to bring a bit of sparkle to a dreary day, here's Pinkabloo, a glitter topper by Posh Polish, a brand that's been catching my eye a lot recently. Here I've painted one coat over Models Own In the Navy, a perennial favourite, due to it's easy application and stunning colour.

Pinkabloo went on very easily for a glitter topper, I only had to dab in a couple of bits of glitter here and there, but on most nails it went on well and spread out perfectly. It's made up of pink, purple and teal hex glitter, with a bit of teal specks running through it. I'm not sure this base shows it to it's best advantage, but tbh, these photos don't help - it looks amazing in sunlight, but it wasn't forthcoming:(

I'm definitely going to try this with other bases, I think it's really stunning, what do you think? Have you tried many Posh Polish polishes?

Mini haul - and it was free!

Ahhhhhhhhhh, Superdrug's loyalty cards - how would I survive without it? This haul comes courtesy of loyalty points, friends and toothpaste.......I'll explain:)

So, my amazing friends somehow worked out that nail polish was my thang, and bought me OPI I Juggle Men and Topshop Adrenaline. Both a gorgeous, and both are NOT dupes of anything I own, which is, at this point in my collection, BLOOMING AMAZING. But the, I do have amazing friends:)

Models Own Utopia, Posh Polish Pinkabloo and Barry M Blood Orange were paid for with Superdrug points - so they were FREE (although it does beg the questions, "I've spent HOW much to accumulate those points??!"

And lastly, most flippingly fun of all, I wandered into a branch of Boots to be confronted with the sign 'Free Polish' - yes, I'd read correctly, FREE Nails Inc polish with Colgate toothpaste. WTF???? Well, my teeth do need to be kept clean.........:)

Happy Caturday, feat. Cherry Blossoms.

Hey peeps, anyone else thinking the tag line for this post sounds like a remixed version of some dodgy 90s song? Lol:) Anyway, let me explain.....

The Caturday part comes from some VERY exciting news. As you may know, we lost our beloved cat Monty before Christmas. We were heartbroken, and so was our other cat, Boo. She's been moping around the house for a while now, and seems so lonely. So we've adopted another cat to keep her company. Introducing.....................

Smoky!

He's so soft and cute, and also loves cuddles. He and Boo are still sussing each other out, but all seems well:)

And now onto the second part of this post; actual nails! I loved the 2True polish I was wearing yesterday so much I decided to try a bit of nail art on them. I'm pleased with these as a first attempt, but keen to try them again and improve them - maybe more cherry blossom, and a lighter branch, black seemed a bit harsh.

Swatch - 2True Shade 49

Ahhhh Friday - what a brilliant day, I hope you're all enjoying it:) I have a lovely polish for you today, another from the 2True range, Shade 49. The photos here make it look blue, but in real life it has a more teal-y tinge; I tried to capture it using my camera, but all that happened was that the camera gave me lobster hands:(

It's shot through with incredibly fine silver micro-glitter, which gives it a pearly look on the nails; oddly, I usually hate pearly colours, but this one I love, it's so cute.

I loved this colour so much that I kept it on to do some nail art..........coming soon.

Random Swatch - Betty Jackson Teal

A few months ago, one of my friends was awesome and brought me a pack of Betty Jackson nail varnishes. This little beauty was tucked in it and I've finally got around to swatching it:) It's a really lovely colour, but I was a bit worried about the formula (untried polish and all that jazz). Turns out, it's not bad.

This is two coats with no topcoat. It's a very deep tealy green (what, that's a colour lol) and the formula is okish. It is somehow a little chalky when it goes on, and I have to say the brush was poor. But I'd wear this polish again, and I feel that's a thumbs up for this little dude:) Happy days.  Toodle pip!

Errrrr - Jamaican flag nails, apparently.

So, there I was, delving into my box of polishes, thinking of what to add onto my lovely teal nails. I discovered my tape, so decided, ok, tape mani it is. Then I found my gold (what a shock!) and a green I haven't used in ages! So, stick, stick, paint, paint, top coat.....et voila; the Jamaican flag??!! Well, not what I was hoping for, but......I like. I've really struggled to do a green nail design, even though I love the colour. Maybe it's a subconscious yearning for a holiday?

Swatch - Barry M Teal

So, have been AWOL this week after my lovely bf took me to Italy, for a fun filled week of art, pasta and gelato! In fact, I think there was only one day when I didn't eat gelato, and there were several days when I ate many gelatos.  Practically had to be rolled through the airport home:) So anyway, I had to resist painting my nails for almost 10 days! Arggggggh. Oddly, since I've got back I've been struggling for inspiration, so until I come up with something better I thought I'd do a swatch of a colour I've had in my collection for months but haven't got around to using. And, I have to say, I LOVE it. I've been staring at my nails all day. Below is 3 coats with no top coat. It's very thin, and you need to be fairly careful with the application, but it's worth it for the beYOOTiful colour.

P.s. Please excuse the state of my nails, I've been so busy unpacking/catching up/trying to work off the gelato that I haven't given them a proper shape/hydration session. They are very unhappy  little cuticles:(
